Miss Olivia Jordan from Oklahoma won the Miss USA’2015 pageant contest going ahead of the 50 other contestants. The first runner up was Ylianna Guerra of Texas, second runner up was Anea Garcia from Rhode Island. Neva Brittany Mc Gown was third runner up followed by Maryland Marne Adjei.
A big controversy arose from Donald Trump’s comments on immigrants of Mexico, for which famous broadcasters like Univision and NBC and a number of celebrities dropped out of the show. Reelz Television aired the show. When questioned about the controversy of Mr. Trump she avoided mentioning about him and the focus was on Miss USA and other women who worked had to go to the stage.
In this event the contestants were given two questions to answer each within 30 seconds. The question was ‘what was the major issue that US has to tackle, Miss Jordan replied that it was race relations and her country has to work hard on it to prove it, going ahead of the 50 contestants. When questioned about the new $10 bill, she replied that the deserving candidate was Oprah Winfrey, a television star but later suggested Harriet Tubman’s name who helped other slaves to escape though he was a slave himself.
Miss Jordan attended the Boston University where she got a B.S in Health Science and a personal trainer and fitness instructor. The head of the Miss Universe Organization, Paula Shugart thanked everyone for the success of the contest.
Miss Olivia Jordan will hold the title of Miss USA for one year and she will represent her country for the Miss Universe pageant contest.
